salvation in 60 secs

while walking on the streets of shillong, the lord led us to a young jaintia who confessed that he was a non-believer. it was during office hours so i sensed he would not have time to sit and chat at leisure but in my spirit, i knew this was too good an opportunity to lose: i had to share the message of the kingdom with him. and the only way was to ask him if he could spare 30 seconds of his precious time. and, praise the lord, he agreed.
whether the gospel is receive or rejected is not our concern but that we preach it effectively enough for the message to be understood. And i had no idea how to do it in 30 seconds, but this is how the spirit led me, and one day, i believe that young man will be in heaven with us.
1. do you agree that there is sin all over this world? sin is anger, fear, stealing, fighting, killing , anything that isn't pleasing to god is sin. he agreed.
2. we all have sin in our life, everyone will make a mistake one day to displease god. we're human, no matter how hard we try, we will sin. he agreed
3. god hates sin, it is unrighteous, and sin is punishable by death, a big price to pay. the wages of sin is death. most importantly, sin separates us from god, his love, plans, purposes and eternal life. he agreed.
4. god being merciful sent his one and only son jesus to die on the cross and shed his blood to cleanse us from all sins. jesus paid the price for our sins.
5. anyone who believes that jesus died and paid the price for their sins and accepts him as a personal savior shall be forgiven and receive eternal life.
6. brother, you can confess your sins, and if you want to accept jesus as your personal savior, we can pray for you...
7. brother, the ball is in your court now!

all you need is love

i woke up one morning to worship in an unusual way:
i didn't read the bible but simply bowed down to worship him.
his spirit took me to a place of tears and thanksgiving;
the lord showed me all the things we do in our home:
how the lord uses us to save others,
the kids we find in the railway station, already dirty
already taking drugs, the ones given up
by their families, beautiful kids that nobody loves anymore;
the ladies at nagaland gate once with hopeless lives now so gloriously transformed,
the guys who enter with no life, on the verge of suicide and death
now touched by the love of the lord.

i learned at the home that all we need is love,
that's all we need in life,
love says: don't leave home, we love you...
love gives me a hug just when i need it most...
love cleans my infected wounds with a smile...
all you really need is love...

i am god

psalm 46:10

be still, and know that i am god;

i will be exalted among the nations,

i will be exalted among the earth...

i received this scripture one week before my father

came down to shillong for a heart operation.

i was busy with work and not in a position

to attend to him as much i wanted.

i felt guilty, i was worried, i wracked my brains...

in the end the lord worked out everything so perfectly.

through this passage he said:

look, i'm the boss in charge. i've been in

the business of saving lives for eternity.

sometimes all we have to do is to be still,

so he can move, and heal and bless;

our worrying and crying and too much fervent prayer overburdens us:

be still, he says, don't you know that

i am god...

6 years of freedom

on 18th sept this year, i celebrated 6 years of celibacy, freedom from drugs, alcohol, and smoking.

the one who lives in us is greater than he lives in the world. praise him.

if the lord sets you free, you shall be free indeed.

the reason for the apostrophe

i decided to call my blog "the co-mission" because the lord instructs believers to become evangelists in matthew 28:19-20, to go to the nations and save mankind. i can't do it alone; its really a team effort.

master of all trades...

recently someone said: i am master of all trades, jack of none. it got me thinking: jesus, our lord and savior himself, apart from being the one sent to save mankind, was a master of many trades. In fact, scriptures go on to describe him as a well-balanced man: Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

this really tells me that Jesus studiously immersed himself in spirituality and scripture as a child (declaring to his anxious parents when they once lost him: how is it you sought me, don't you know i had to be in my father's house?). so he earned a degree in divinity as a firstborn son who sought the will of the father, and sat at the feet of the lord soaking in learning of the highest order. he started young, when most children love to skip school, climb trees and play games.

born into this world, when not atop a mountain with his lord, jesus actively hung around folks from all walks of life. that was his degree in sociology. he saw the needs of humanity (essentially love, healing, physical needs), and picked up the social skills to become a mentor capable of instilling confidence in those without self-esteem, imparting hope and faith to hopeless individuals. even those in successful professions followed jesus seeing in him a leader to emulate, someone to follow and die for. so jesus raised up men for the kingdom of god because he learned to become a leader who anointed others to become bearers of the faith.

practical skills are valuable in life and jesus earned his vocational stripes busying himself in his family trade: carpentry, to the extent of actually earning a singular distinction among his townsmen: the carpenter.

i often encourage the boys in our ministry to look at a means to earn daily bread through an occupation that can be learned in a month or so, on the job, without a specialised degree course. I give them a few examples: basic accounts, driving, computers, farming, or carpentry!

the apostle paul was a tentmaker by profession, a religious scholar of the highest caliber, a expert on jewish law, one who understood that the commission could only be fulfilled by empowering others to become leaders.
